If your holiday dishes are all packed up and you can't get to them, don't despair, just think of alternate ways to enjoy some holiday table cheer during the heat of the summer for most of us. You can be creative and use holiday colors with white, red, or black dishes, or even make a new Christmas centerpiece. Hobby Lobby and other stores are beginning to stock their Christmas things and have quite a bit out for CIJ shoppers. You could even concentrate on holiday type foods and let them be your focal point. What about homemade ice cream to replace snow ice cream for dessert?
Most of you probably even have some photos that you could share if you don't want to make new tables. However, this will be a great time to try out some new ideas before the holiday rush. Stay indoors out of the blistering heat and decorate tables and think of Christmas.
Photos of your table or tables should be posted each Saturday during July by midnight. The dates will be July 4, July 11, July 18 and the final one on Rudy Day on July 25.
In honor of the spirit of giving during the holidays, a giveaway will be held on the final Saturday, July 25. Your name will be added twice to the drawing for each Christmas or winter themed weekly table that you link to my blog and this party. Remember the next three parties will continue on July 11, July 18, and the final event will be held on July 25.
Enter a table in the party with photos and get two chances entered in the giveaway drawing.
Add the meme button shown at the top of this post to your blog and get your name added once to the drawing.
Giving a shout out about CIJ Tablescape Party will add your name one time to the drawing. (You can repeat the shout out weekly and get an additonal entry each week. Just leave me a comment if you do this, so I will get the correct number of entries added.
A random drawing will be held for this beautiful Christmas tablecloth on Sunday, July 26 as Christmas in July enters its final week for 2009.
Of course you can enter the drawing for the tablecloth without participating with a table of your own. As a guest and visitor, just leave me a comment about the party. Come back and comment each week for another chance added. You can also choose to add the meme button or give a shoutout with having a table. Pass the word so that we can have a great party.
Please add the above meme to your blog to announce this event. Leave me a comment that you have added this to your sidebar or given this party a shout out for an additional entry in the drawing.
I just got your wonderful comment...HUGS to you and your! Ok...sigh...so I am late for the first playing dishes july event! I am going to get on track here and hope to participate...as I love Christmas...especially in JULY!
Hi Felecia! So nice to meet you... Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting with a personal invite to join in the Christmas Tablescape! I would love to join in! I have the tablescape I did last year that I could post again... All my really fun Christmas tablescaping stuff is carefully packed away in bins and is stored in my too hot for comfort garage right now... But I was pretty proud of last years... It was the first year Hubby and I were alone on Christmas morning since we have been married... (kids have grown and moved out and this year so we went and messed up their homes for a change!) so I did a Christmas Breakfast table. So count me in! I marked it on my calender! Have a lovely Sunday! ~Really Rainey~
Thanks for all the comments. I will post Mr. Linky on this post Friday night for the Week 2 Party. I have been hearing from quite a few about this week's party. Hopefully we will have a bigger crew.
Forgot to mention that everyone who posted, gave a shoutout or added the meme button from above have been added to the drawing pot already. Well, actually it is a pot---a teapot that I am using to hold these entries!!!!!
Remember the drawing will be after the close of the final week's party on July 25 and is a beautiful Christmas tablecloth!
I picked up some Christmas dishes and glassware at the Salvation Army this spring, so I'll try and get out a post this weekend. I added your badge to my sidebar. I hope you get a good turnout.
I am working on my tablescape today and hope to post it Saturday, 18th. I've added your Meme to my sidebar. (I've created quite a mess getting into my Christmas things....!)
Welcome to my blog. I made a Christmas blog to share photos of my holiday decor with some cyber friends. However, I didn't keep posting after the holidays and decided that I liked it as a special tribute to my favorite time of the year. I intended to post on it monthly on Rudolph Day on the 25th of each month, but life got in the way and I haven't posted since December. I am a Christmas nut and really plan and celebrate it all year long.
During the fall I found a holiday forum on Garden Web and started visiting there in addition to my two holiday favorite sites Our Home for the Holidays and Magical Holiday Home. The wonderful people over at GW got me hooked on dishes and tablescapes. I even me a few of the same members on the HGTV decorating forums and have been following their blogs all year.
I finally decided that I wanted to participate in blog land and not just read and look, so here I am. I am hoping to participate in Tablescape Thursday, Foodie Friday, and some of the other fun things I look forward to seeing weekly.
I hope I can figure out Mr. Linky and all the other things that I have been reading about. This is all new to me and I am a bit overwhelmed. But, I am here and ready to have even more fun as a participant.
I love the holidays and decorating for them. I have always been a Christmas nut and have enjoyed the fall and Halloween, but never to an extreme. This year, I decided to host our first Boo Bash, Halloween Cosume Party and have found a new love!
I named this blog Haven Haunt as a contridiction of the term haven, which is where the name of where I live. Since it is for Halloween, I decided on Haven Haunt.
I have been married for 36 years and have one adult daughter and one son, who is in Heaven. We have a Mini Pin dog, named Duke and a Daushund, who just crossed over the Rainbow Bridge this past summer.
I posted the meme on my sidebar! I won't be participating this weekend, but definitely will next weekend. Great idea!
